"Dare to Care & Endure" 80km Walk Completed!... Mission Accomplished!
A huge "THANK YOU" to "EVERYONE IN THE COMMUNITY" who supported me on my Family Caregivers Network Society Fundraiser "Dare To Care & Endure" 80km WALK along the full distance of the Galloping Goose & Lockside Trail Aug 24'08!
I am thrilled to announce that the donations "to date" including the matched "dollar for dollar" for the Alzheimer Society of BC stand @ 10,125.00! That translates to 126.56 per KM walked..... WOW!... beyond my wildest dreams!
I am so grateful to my Support Teams from the Running Room, Pete, Lesley & Laura & also my friends Malcolm & Kath who weathered the "torential rains" with me all 10hr50min!
What a great celebration at the finish line in Swartz Bay; thanks also to all those who came out to greet & support me, including the Media there & along the way!
The financial support and the amazing "heartfelt" support from so many, truly has been "awe inspiring"! .......that incentive kept me going for sure!
The other awesome news is that I and my support crews had so many opportunities before, during & after this event to raise awareness within our Community for these most worthy Causes, through pamphlets, posters,media & spoken word! YAHOO!!!
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED...... ALL BECAUSE OF "TEAM WORK"!
A special thanks to the staff of both the FCNS and Alzheimer Soc of BC for all their amazing support in making this Event happen!
